Meet the Speaker: Brian McCreath

Brian McCreath is a clergy spouse who understands firsthand the unique rhythms, transitions, and callings that come with life in ministry. Alongside his spouse’s vocation, Brian has built a distinguished career in classical music broadcasting, bringing artistry, insight, and storytelling to audiences through public radio.
Brian produces and hosts CRB’s Boston Symphony Orchestra broadcasts from Symphony Hall and Tanglewood, serves as Executive Producer of WCRB In Concert, and produces and hosts The Bach Hour. As Director of Production for GBH Music, he also oversees performances recorded in the Fraser Performance Studio and the development of digital music content featured on CRB’s website.
He joined WGBH as a digital content producer and later expanded his work into classical music production and hosting, including several years producing and hosting GBH’s weekend morning classical program. Over the course of his career, Brian has hosted numerous live broadcasts and video streams, including performances from GBH’s Fraser Performance Studio, the Handel and Haydn Society from Symphony Hall and Jordan Hall, Rockport Music’s Shalin Liu Performance Center, and the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum’s Calderwood Hall. He has also hosted GBH Classical Music Learning Tours to Germany, Central Europe, and Switzerland.
Before his broadcasting career, Brian was an accomplished professional musician, serving as Principal Trumpet of the Milwaukee Ballet Orchestra, performing with the Madison Symphony Orchestra, and holding the role of Assistant Principal Trumpet of the Symphony Orchestra of the State of Mexico. His radio career began as a Production Assistant at Wisconsin Public Radio. Brian holds degrees in Trumpet Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music and The College of Wooster.
With experience in music, media, and ministry life, Brian brings a thoughtful and engaging perspective to conversations about vocation, creativity, and community.
